Program Overview

The Associate of Arts in Youth Ministry program at Point University provides students with a broad foundation in the liberal arts, a strong understanding of biblical theology and worldviews, and the practical skills needed to effectively minister to the next generation.

Upon completion of the program, students will develop the competencies needed to:

  • Assess contemporary approaches to youth ministry in a variety of contexts from theological, philosophical, and practical viewpoints.
  • Establish an understanding of the requirements of leading and serving in a ministry environment.
  • Apply a basic working knowledge of human development to the task of helping young people grow to maturity in Christ.
  • Articulate principles for effective leadership and service in multicultural ministry environments.

Graduates may continue their studies to earn the Bachelor of Science degree in Christian Ministries.

Paying for School

At Point University, our goal is to make higher education accessible to all. Our tuition costs are lower than many other institutions, making a high-quality, Christian, private college education an affordable investment in your future. In addition to a transfer credit friendly policy that can save you time and money, Point offers a number of options to help you finance your education. Our financial aid counselors are committed to providing students information on the funding resources available and helping them navigate the financial aid process. Online students can pay for their education in a variety of ways, including:

Student Loans
Eligible students enrolled at least half time are qualified for the Federal Direct Student Loan Program and may borrow need-based subsidized loans or unsubsidized loans.

The parent of a dependent, undergraduate student enrolled half time may qualify for federal government loans to cover the cost of their child’s education. Students and parents can also take advantage of private loans available through various lenders.

Grants
Federal Pell Grants are also available to students who qualify. The amount of aid awarded is based on the recipient’s financial need, cost of attendance, number of credits per semester and other factors. Some students may also qualify for additional federal and state grants based on eligibility.

Veterans Benefits
Our online veteran students have access to the same financial aid resources available to campus students, with the added benefit of tuition assistance under the Post 9/11 GI Bill and Yellow Ribbon Program. 

Tuition Discounts
In addition to providing a quality education at a cost lower than many other private universities, Point University offers online students nearly 40% off the regular tuition rate for on-campus programs.
